Although here at Retro EZ, we are highly Amiga focused, we still have fond memories of the various consoles we owned growing up. Of course we always loved the Amiga, although as we got older and life got busier with Exams, YT, our first full time jobs and of course the ability to actually get served in pubs! It was always convenient to have a console to hand, where we could just push an on button and blast our a few rounds of Tekken or Street Fighter, or kick back and relax playing console only adventure games that were not released for the Amiga (such as Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Parasite Eve or Silent Hill to name a few).

Of course, at the time, this resulted in large piles of expensive CD based games scattered around the bedroom floor (which were never in the right cases!).

Today, it is possible to take these older consoles and apply the same modern methods we use on our Amigas, whereby games can be stored on an SD card. This replaces the need for cartridges and CDs and therefore also the risk of CD mechanism failure, which was a common issue (do we all remember turning our PlayStation 1 consoles upside down, so they read discs properly?).

Retro EZ are proud to be a UK reseller for the XStation SD storage card mod for the original PlayStation 1 console and we hope to add additional PlayStation compatible products to this category in due course.
