Raspberry Pi

Here at Retro EZ, we love factory original hardware and one element we have always felt splits actual retro computers and consoles, from modern emulation and ( FPGA ) solutions; is the sound.

Due to the fact that many older computers had dedicated and unique sound chips, the music and sound effects had depth and character. Modern emulators and ( FPGA) solutions do a fantastic job and in many cases at very little expense. Although in most cases, they are just a shade off the original experience.

That being said, emulation and ( FPGA ) solutions allow a low cost, fast and low maintenance entry point into accessing retro software and games at an almost identical experience to the factory hardware.

At Retro EZ we love the Raspberry Pi 4 combined with Chris Edward's PiMIGA Amiga emulation solution. When mounted in Michael Klements DIY case with LED lighting, active cooling and OLED stats display, the result is a high end very small form factor, cool looking Amiga platform, which plugs into any modern HDMI display, with full support for USB keyboards, mice and joysticks.

Although we don't physically stock the Raspberry Pi 4 (yet!), we do offer the case, cooling components, USB-C on/off switch, storage cards and various other accessories for the Raspberry Pi platform.

...and of course, the Raspberry Pi is not limited to running Amiga emulation, it is a highly effective stand-alone, Linux capable computer, with the ability to emulate many different retro computers and consoles. For example, checkout RetroPie.
